Serenity Inspiration

If you’ve ever been to an Alcoholics Anonymous(AA) meeting(I haven’t, by the way) you’re probably familiar with The Serenity Prayer.  I’m not religious, but I found it incredibly inspiring the other day.  I like the acknowledgement that some things can not be changed and can only be accepted.  Here is the original version:

God grant me the

serenity

to accept the things

I cannot change;

courage

to change the things

I can; and

wisdom

to know the

difference.

A good variation on this for those of you who aren’t christian is:

May I have/I wish to have the

serenity

to accept the things

I cannot change;

courage

to change the things

I can; and

wisdom

to know the

difference.
