    I voted but I don’t believe it’s quite as simple as that…

So what do you think lying is? Go ahead with a long winded response, I’m curious!

I belive there are a few different forms of lying and everyone has lied at one point in their lives so I’m not ashamed. I think that lying is made up of an uncertainty or complete knowingness of facts. Lying cannot be when someone doesn’t know the full facts to be able to come to a conclusion, unless they say that they know something when they don’t. There are times when it is to hurt a person (which I have personally had many negative experiences with) but mainly to protect people’s feelings and guarantee that they’re safe, happy and comfortable. Lying can be used as a diversion, or simply a joke gone wrong. And I may seem like a hypocrite, as I have lied many times, particularly to myself -which is more than possible – or to my parents.
Sorry, it’s a rather long winded answer but I love to have a little rant from time to time, especially from so stressed I’ve been! Hope you’ve enjoyed if you’ve bothered to read it all!

I love rants. All the rants! Rant away! I think it is impossible to be a human, to be born and to die, and have never lied in your life. There’s no shame in that.

Haha! It’s the fact that people get really offended when you lie, as if they never have!

Everyone, feel free to discuss this in more depth in the comments. I had this conversation with a friend the other day IRL and I was surprised we thought different things about such a basic idea that even toddlers are taught. I’m excited to see what people from different parts of the world think about this.
